Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 August 2026
These terms cover your use of Showerling — the baby shower website service at showerling.com, operated from Victoria, Australia. By purchasing or using Showerling you agree to them. They're written to be read, not to intimidate.
What you're buying
- A one-off purchase (currently $49 USD — no subscription) creates one event site.
- Your site stays live for 6 months from purchase — long enough for the lead-up, the day, and the afterglow. After that it's retired and its data deleted.
- Every feature is included: invitation page, RSVPs, gift registry (with optional AI drafting), games with printable QR cards, guestbook and the host dashboard.
- Your account is created automatically at checkout and you log in with emailed magic links — there's no password to manage.
Your content
- Everything you and your guests add — stories, photos of words, notes, names — remains yours. We claim no ownership; we only host and display it to run your site.
- You're responsible for what you publish. Only share other people's details (like your co-host's phone number) with their blessing.
- Shower sites are unlisted but not password-protected — anyone with the link can view a live site. Share the link the way you'd share the party details.
Fair use
Showerling is for baby showers and similar celebrations. Don't use it for anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful — no scams, harassment, infringing content or attempts to break or overload the service. We can suspend sites that do, and in serious cases without notice.
The AI registry assistant
The “Do it for me” registry drafting suggests real-world products and indicative prices as a starting point. Suggestions and shop links are provided in good faith but retailers change stock and prices — always check before buying. Every item is editable and deletable; the registry is yours, not the AI's.
Refunds & the Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If Showerling has a major failure you're entitled to a refund or to compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss; for other failures we'll fix the problem in a reasonable time. Beyond that: if something's not working for you, email us — we're expecting parents ourselves and we'd rather fix it or refund you than leave you stuck a month before your shower.
Availability & liability
We work hard to keep Showerling online, especially on shower days, but no online service can promise 100% uptime. To the extent the law allows (and always subject to your ACL rights above), our liability is capped at the amount you paid us. We're not liable for content guests submit or for third-party sites we link to (like retailers).
Changes to the service or these terms
We improve Showerling continuously and may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new date; changes won't reduce what you've already paid for during your site's 6 months.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
